Jan De Deka
Director of Business Development

Jan joined the Research Foundation in 2003 to lead GrantsPlus, the vehicle to extend the Research Foundation’s grant and fiscal administration services to non-CUNY clients. Prior to joining the Research Foundation, she was the General Manager for the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, heading up the Ellis Island American Family Immigration History Center and web site. Before joining the nonprofit sector, she spent 15 years in information technology consulting in marketing and business development roles for organizations such as Oracle and Coopers & Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers). She received her BA in English from Union College.

Janet Polli
Associate

Janet Polli supports GrantsPlus in providing grant administration and general fiscal services to nonprofit organizations that enhance their technical capacity and ability to attract funding. Janet has worked in the nonprofit sector for over ten years, focusing on arts, youth development, and education. Most recently, Janet served as Director of Mentoring USA, where she was responsible for fundraising, program expansion, and fiscal management. Janet has also worked as a Program Director with Pathways for Youth and a Senior Fellow with Common Cents New York. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her BA from the University of Chicago.
